Our 5 weeks in New Zealand flew by far too quickly and I didn’t get to see half of the things I wanted to, yet I’ve still come away thinking that this is one of the most amazing places I’ve ever been and I can’t wait to get back. Missing our lush little neighbour already, I thought I’d compile my favourite photos from the trip into a single post.

Lake Tekapo, as seen from our hike up to the observatory, is the exact colour of Cool Blue Gatorade.

Stunning views of Mt. Cook on the hike to Mueller Hut from Whitehorse Hills campground.

Even more incredible views of Mt. Cook from Mt. Ollivier, a steep scramble from Mueller Hut.

The Hooker Valley Trail, also accessible from Whitehorse Hills Campground.

Plunging into the canyon on the world’s largest swing, the Nevis Swing.

Braving a tandem bungy from the world’s first bungy site at Kawarau Bridge near Queenstown.

The view from Skyline Queenstown.

A very LOTR-esque jaunt along the Routeburn Track, one of NZ’s “Great Walks”

The beautiful Harris Saddle, reached from the Routeburn Falls Hut.

A surprisingly tropical view over the ocean near Okarito.

Our final hike with dad & Eileen to Avalanche Peak and Crow Hut.

Kayaking & hiking the Abel Tasman Track, another NZ “Great Walk” in the northern South Island.

Glacial flour, sediment which hangs suspended in the water and refracts light, gives the water a milky turquoise colour.

A morning walk around Kaikoura.
